2014-07-21 - Crabbing at Ambleside Park, West Vancouver, BC

Last night after work we (Leah, Oliver, and Keri) drove across the lions gate bridge to Ambleside Park in a west Vancouver and chucked out crab traps into the burrard inlet in search of dungesess crab and red rock crab. Hauling out a plethora again, but same as before, more moms and babies... We were once again able to keep one. But at 12.00 a pound, it's a good return, sure were not in the market for selling it, but not having to buy it sure helps.

This is the before shot in the bag on the way home, the after shot... don't have one, we threw him in a boiling pot of hot water and that was the end of the crab. Got a bag of crab meat in the freezer.
Thought a previous crab was of size, so i took him over to the scale and i was a little careless... hims got my finger in his pincher...
Live and learn i suppose, hims was just trying to escape back to his world, as i took him to my world. turns out it was too small anyways so he got chucked back into the inlet.
Once again, we were done late so a stop off for a feast of McDonalds was instore... Happy now... sad later. :(
it was quick and easy and at 11:00 on a school night, its whats fed dinner.
