A window into my last 48 hours

Left Montego Bay at 12:30pm EST, Saturday November 16th, arrived in Winnipeg at 7:30pm, CST, sat in the airport until 6:50am. Maybe got an hour sleep, flew to Edmonton. Got there at 8:50, got an hour sleep in the plane, got on another plane at 9:20, got to Vancouver at 9:45am PST Sunday, November 17th. stayed up until 9:30pm, woke up at 6:30am... Headed to work... travel days... Some people like them, I can't sleep for shit in airplanes and airports.

Scuba

Yep, thats right. Scuba diving. Went and got resort certified by a PADI certified diver named David, means we can dive with an instructor for around 30 minutes at a depth of about 25 to 30 feet at any Sandals Resort. First time we went was pretty good.  Our guides name was David, we seen lots of coral, tropical fish, and there sting rays. there was more fish and marine life there to see, but was to busy concentrating on breathing etc to stop and smell the roses If you will.

Second time we went I didn't reach five feet down before I started having a panic attack. It reminds me of that episode of The Simpsons where they win a trip to Hawaii. Marge has anxiety about flying, and just as the plane is about to leave, she gets out of her seat and runs from one end of the plane to the other yelling " lemme out, lemme out. Lemme out, lemme out" until the commercial break. Anyway, I went back to the boat and chilled with... Shit I forget his name, but we a talked about Jamaican lifestyle vs. Canadian lifestyle. Quite the difference with the some similarities. 

When the dive was done our guide Yogi took me and Leah aside and told her she did excellent and wanted her to get certified, and asked me what happened. I told him and he said he wanted to take us again. He didn't wasn't that to be my last experience with scuba. I agreed and we went again the next day.

Third dive, over coming whatever the hell I feared the previous day. Jumped in the water, started feeling trapped again... Yogi told me to stick my head in the water and pretend I was snorkeling, after few minutes of that... BOOM... Started decending down the rope, nerves went away, and I was relaxed.  By the time I was down to the ocean floor I had  conquered that fear... sank down to 25 feet, achieved bouyancy and we were off... Seen so much marine life, rays, lion fish, eels... BEST DIVE EVER. I know I've only dived three times, but that was awesome. 

I have the greatest respect for Yogi for helping me conquer that mental block, or fear or whatever you wanted to call it.

35000 feet thoughts

From looking out my airplane window, enroute to Toronto them to Jamaica for my wedding. I had the realization that we as humans are but just a tiny part of the ecosystem of the earth. Since I took a few minutes to climb up out do the cloud. Clouds are 15,000 feet high... Humans... 6 feet. 

Although humans have figured out a way to have a huge impact on the earth in a  big way.  I'd imagine sooner or later there will be consequences. Can you say global climate change. 

Looking at the map there, looks like I'm flying into Wisconsin airspace... Go packers

Dis-honourable mention. Sorry westjet, I get that you have to stuff people in a plane. It's not your design so I can't fault you on that one, but for the love of god... How about a TV that works.
