Today was ok, was pretty tired, its been a long haul to this point, working overtime almost every day since the beginning of August. Its been crazy busy at work, and turn back season is upon us. The busy season for rental companies as they ditch the 2014 fleet cars for the 2015 versions of the same cars... yep, but it is what it is.
7 days, 1 hour and 20 minutes until we depart to Cuba for a weeks holidays. Its been on Leahs vacation go to list for quite some time, so I'm pretty stoked to be able to accompany her on that mission.
Went to Steve Nash Sports Club today, was good to get a run on an treadmill. Its not the same as outdoor running. Feel like a bit of that rat in a cage on a exercise wheel... but what do you do. was on the machine for 35 minutes, burned 391 calories. Time to go get changed... the lockers have upper and lower lockers, i picked a lower locker. Come into the change room, theres someone changing in front of my locker, cause his is above mine. No problem, So i wait, turning my attention to the baseball highlights... what else do you do whilst you wait for someone to change and move.
Well shit, did you not guess it. buddy takes his sweet time. gets about half way changed, starts watching baseball highlights as well.
waiting... and waiting...
buddy get his pants and shirt on... decides to have a look in the mirror... fuck me right? so I quickly dart in to grab my shit cause I'm headed to the sauna to hook up with Leah for a after work out sauna session. i notice he's coming back to what was i thought was a quick finish and fuck off s i get out of his way, let him finish kind go sitch... nope. not the case... do be do... lets grab a stool and plop our bag on it right in front of my locker door and fold our gym strip. Fucking rights, knowing full on that i want to get changed... cause are people that fucking blind that they don't notice someone waiting.
suppose i could have said something, but i figure my actions spoke for me... have some courtesy...
back to the story... so he plops his shit on a stool, and folds up his strip, then decides it high time to spritz some stinky shit on him... and walk over to the mirror on the other side of the change room to have a look and give himself the ole classic faux hawk look...
thats when i decide to push his shit out of the way cause yes ladies and gentlemen, he left his shit on the stool in front of my locker again.
I quickly change, and pin it to the sauna where the wife has already been in there for probably 10 minutes now, so i get in about 3 minutes of sauna time... thanks douche bag... click on the link to see the definition if you're unsure as to what a douche bag is...
you know, i guess people just aren't as courteous as i think, it give the benefit of the doubt and just assume people aren't assholes... but i guess I'm wrong. Anyways, showered and left, came home and took my last dose of Dukoral... now I'm writing about my evening on the Mac Mini...
watched the movie called Jobs last night, long one but pretty good. about Apple Computers and Steve Jobs.
adios.

fans... or simply just a wrong click
as you can see, last week, i have had people from Italy, Poland, France, US and Canada looking reading my blog. maybe they accidentally clicked the wrong button, but its sorta cool to see who is viewing my page.
i decided to throw up some all time stats... its interesting to see people from Indonesia, Russia, Poland, etc... checking out my posts.
Soap Box
So, over the past few yeas i have been noticing that i am quite opinionated with certain topics. Spouting off about oil pipelines or education system strikes. (hot topics in British Columbia anyways) I see nothing wrong with having an opinion. Lately i have learned to pick my battles. Does your opinion have merit on what is happening, does your opinion affect someone you know negatively, etc...
sometimes it worth the hassle to speak your mind, but other times... why bother. Its just not worth it, all it does is spreads hate and bullshit.
This post probably makes no sense at all as i can't figure out what to say or how to say it, point is... wait, there is no point.

old reviews from GarageBand web site on Evolution Man song released by Catalyst
Evolution Man
Band: Catalyst CA
Genre: Alternative Rock
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reviev
Long arranged composition with some cool and great movements. This introduction seems to be not bad, but needs more improvement with record. Sounds like garage, indeed. Anyway guitars, bass line and vocals are very good. Drums sounds nice, but some elements are just to high/loud in final mix. Melodies are moving well, but this one is more ruthmical song for me. Chrous sounds impressive and catchy. I like these radio fx on vocal line.
Overall, its very good composition, which I really like.

Good song, but became repetitive...
I love the sitar-like guitar sound in the intro of the song - the entire intro is strong. Im not sure about putting a bass guitar alone, hoever it seemed to work for this track.
Perhaps be careful not to overplay the song - at times i found there was too much bass drum and bass guitar, which muddied the sound.
I think the song is a little too long at the 7 minute mark. I would consider a radio edit and save the longer version for an album - this song could easily have ended at the 4.30 mark.
Overall a strong effort.

my review......
This intro goes on for days and days....needs to be a little shorter to keep the listeners attention....the vocals are pretty good....the mix is pretty good....but the recording quality is not very good....I like the bass and drums....they're tight....but this song needs a direction, and to get to it alot quicker...

Great feel on the intro. Musicianship is gre..
Vocals and harmonies are well done. Really like the guitar tone that is used to convey the mood on the song. This is the kind of music I would go to a club and listen to and really enjoy. The talent is definitely there with this band. The song is deeper than a lot of its counterparts floating around out there. You could really end the tune where you have the break around 4:55/57 or so. I guess when you do the song live the breakdown there adds a good bit of impact. I think the songwriter(s) has/have talent. The mix is OK. Just needs some level tweaking here and there on the guitar. Bass tone is excellent, the round sound I personally like to listen to. Lead guitar is tasteful with fills, etc. Drums sound just a little loose but they do not hurt the overall feel.

Thomas "Rock Cowboy Cobain" Dolby
sounds maybe like this artist was influenced by curt cobain. The reason for my title was that it does have a new age feel but also a little western like acoustic guitar but some rock like vocals. Gets very heavy and has great hooks, all parts of the song work well together. The production or strings on the acoustic could use just a little work. But overall a rocking tune and an A+.

Good charm and bass in the intro.
Bass: Sounds realy good in the intro but I cant pull it out through out the song. I like that bass run.

Drums: Steady with some creative beats.

Tool
Reminds me of Tool and Alice In Chains a bit. Nice effects on the vox.
Bass: nice technical bit in the verse. Hear nothing wrong with it.
Lead Guitar: ok. Cool sound. Solo after 4 minutes is a bit dated and could be a bit faster.
Drums: like the stereo-effect on it.
Break doesn't seem to have much use.
Good job

Song too long for my taste
I would like to hear this song in under 5 minutes. It was just too much to take in one sitting.

Vocals are strong.

Review
The intro was really cool. I like how the guitar ends and the bass comes in for the transition. The bass was pretty solid in it, pretty cool riffs. The drums are also solid. I like the vocals, the vocal harmonies are cool. The melody was good. The lead guitar was really good, the solo sounded perfect. I like the build up at around 4:45, I was diggin that. I liked the tone of the guitar, it wasn't too heavy of a distortion.

Intro...
Hey guys, you asked for comments on Bass, Guitar, and drums.. The intro with the harmonics is cool. The bass and guitar sound a bit out of tune though. When the groove kicks in its great, as the track progresses, it seems as the drummer had kind of hard time getting all those fills out. What I mean is that there is a few too many of them and they are kind of taking away from the groove. I like the giutar riff that starts around 2:17 it is kind of egyptian. Bass player is laying down a great pad. Nice, a two part tune. Rock on dudes.

Good stuff
Nice bass. This song has a great buildup in the begining. Drums are cool at 2:00. Singer has a very cool voice. I like the the effect working on there. Guitars are actually probably the most outstanding part osf this song. At 3 :00 the guitars have had like six different parts, or at least it seemed that way to me. Nice tune

drums... yuck.
Yikes... I'm a little worried right off the bat with a 7 minute song. It's pretty tough to make a 7 minute song good unless it's "hey jude" by the beatles.
The drumming is absolutely terrible throughout. He's missing his hits constantly and falls off-tempo constantly.
The bass is decent, doesn't blow me away either way.
The vocals are a bit monotone for my taste, but seemed to stay on key throuhgout.
Overall, it's a decent track with a god awful drummer. His fills sounds like a child is playing them.

Unpredictability
I wasn't sure where the song was going after the intro, good effect. Volume shifts are kind of weird. The tone and mood of the song is cool. The drums are great and only need to played with more emotion. The mix levels were OK, overall volume was good. I like the rolling Bass line with the scratchy Guitar parts. Metal flair without the metal.
- redirk2 from Rockford, Illinois on 10Jul2005

like the sound
I like the sound and very catchy. I like the long intro. love the bass and lead guitar. The drums are pretty sweet too!

nice cluster..
Bass; A calm but fitting melody + a developed sound..Could vary little more I belive..
Lead Guitar; Little old folk music ( bluegrass, Country feel).
Drums; quite boring really..But it holds together...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
too long
a one-minute intro is probably a bit too much. Air-time is almost impossible with such a long intro. Don't like the ride-symbals in the intro too much.
Like the moody atmosphere. Clearly a talented guitarplayer.
Good doubled vocals.
Song could have stopped at 4 minutes. 6.53 is too long except when you come up with an amazing break. The break you guys use isn't very intense. It kinda ruins the climax. Lots of potential.
Reminds me of Creed.
- EDGY101 from Belgium on 4Jul2005
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Moody
The music is rather simplistic and at times even sloppy. Not really bad but noticable. I like the sound put forth with the rhythm guitar. The best part is the vocalist. Very smooth and intriguing. I like this song and am noticing tighter performances as the song goes on. Maybe my ear wasn't in tune. Good song. Interesting breakdown or bridge. Trippy.

Nothing Short Of Amazing
Great opening guitar. I love that! The opening is the hook for me I think, but then it kinda goes to the bass part by itself and kinda throws me off. But then all the instruments kick in and play together and it sounds marvellous. Great mixture of the instruments!
The vocals have this dark moody sound which I love. Mix awesomely for this songs melody and beat. They know when to hit the right notes when needed. They are nothing short of amazing in the chorus. But they seem to remind me of someone, not sure who at this point though. The lyrics are pretty good too, all the right lyrics at the right beats.
Great job on this song! Keep playing and i'll keep listening! Thanks for the great tune guys!
- myhearrtbleeds from Unspecified on 2Jul2005

A bit too long
Nice riff, nice voice (Alice in Chains), overall the song sounds good but I'd use the axe here and there, 6:53 is way too long
- sjerre_t from Aalst, Belgium on 2Jul2005

Great Tones
The guitar tones sound really good as do the drums, bass, and vocals. The vocals in the verse remind me a little of Beck. I like them very much.
Some constructive critisism: The drums are a bit "jerky." In other words they are lacking feel. There is somewhat of an epic feel to this song (lengthy), but consider maybe doing a 2nd version. In this second version I think you could cut quite a bit out of this song while keeping the purpose of the song together.
Just a thought.
Really good song overall.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6:53 is not a good sign...
The best part of this recording is the drum sound. Cymbals a little more up front.
The length is killing the song.
Other than that not really much to keep my attention.
Like a roller coaster that only goes up hill.
- thompale from Baltimore, Maryland on 29Jun2005

yes
i'm liking the dual intros, but i would say they need a little diversity. vocal effects work well. good harmony choices.
- lctt from East Point, Georgia on 28Jun2005

good and bad
Intro is a little long for it to be on a recording. Live is fine to have that long intro, but get to your stuff faster.
You have a good sound, great vocalist for your style. Hard but still melodic.
Sounds like some tuning issues in the clean guitar...
Lead guitar is good, not doing too much to detract form the rest of the song, but not hanging out in the background either.
You might want to end it right after the guitar solo. It sounds like a totally different (and worse) band after the solo. This just drags the song on too long, and could turn listeners off as it gets monotonous after a while.
The talent is definately there, but try to save up a little more cash and get this song re-recorded at a better studio.
- atlas_walter from Newport News, Virginia on 27Jun2005

rock
The intro bass and guitar are very cool, and the melody fits very well with the music. I like how it gets heavier as the song goes. The guitar riff is awesome. Kind of sounds Creed-rock when the chorus kicks in.
- whereswill from Lawrence, Kansas on 27Jun2005
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Intro too long
After 55 seconds I was wondering if this was going to be an instrumental.
Sounds like the guitarist has only been playing for a few years.
Nice drumming. Good chops and props to the drummer.
The chorus is much better than the verses. The verses need a little work.
- Toneslinger from Lindenwald, Ohio on 26Jun2005

gregs other band
nice mood right from the get-go. slow and steady. then the drums drop out and a build begins. looking forward to hearing the vocalist.
bass is a little muddy, a little hard to hear on my speakers.
vocalist reminds me of greg graffin, nice held-back voice. perhaps a little too held-back.
drums are tight, nicely recorded.

the guitar riff is nothing new. the recording sounds like it was done really cheap. the vibe of the song is not bad it is pretty cool and the song builds and that is good. I likey dynamics.

where's the hostility?
i got a little worried when i saw the hefty 6:53 song length. i usually like to listen to a song three times before i start to review it. this song was pretty good though, so i didn't mind the time spent with it.
i liked the bass intro to the song, but could have done without the brief guitar portion before it. the bass, followed by the drums builds the tension for the song much better than the guitar intro does and with a song this long, everything needs to be absolutely essential to the track to keep it. if you were to start this song :24 seconds in and end it at 6:34 everything would work much, much better.
the song builds nicely upon itself, but i feel a little let down by the time the end comes around. at around the 4:45 mark the song has built up enough tension that there should be a cathartic release, either through a crushing breakdown or some gutteral screams. this is an agry song, i wanted to hear some anger in the vocals.
the music on this song is tight although some places (like 2:00 and 3:41) i wanted busier drums. but overall the guitar has a catchy lead riff, a proficient solo and a nice distorted tone. the bass is low and driving throughout the song and it follows the drums well.

GREAT FEEL !!
GREAT VOCALS , GUITARS, DRUMS, AND BASS.

Bass and Drums lead the song.
The beginning is a little long, but kept my head nodding. Then I really like the vocal sound when they came in, and melody was perfect.

Slow start
I'm 30 seconds in and staring at that counter that tells me that this song is almost 7 minutes long and I'm dying here. You need to get to the punch a bit quicker on this one if you are going to hold the attention of the listener. I'd try to cut this length down at least 2 minutes if not more.
- GWML from Boston, Massachusetts on 21Jun2005
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Warms up
A bit of a slow start - the intro is a little long - but this gets better as it goes along.
I like the guitar sounds, esp the heavy distorted guitar. It's heavy without being fizzy.
The vocal melody over the top is cool.
The drums are a bit muted sounding. The snare could do with a touch more snap, the toms are indistinct, and the kick is too buried.
You could try making a submix out of the drum tracks, compress the bejesus out of it, and blend with the original mix for a more punchy srum sound.
I'm hearing a Metallica influence here.
Good dynamics, cool song
- BullsH1t from Unspecified on 21Jun2005

driving song
the bass is driving and the drums just puts the mood into high gear. the vox sings well with the same melody of the guitar and bass.
- hystera from Chalmette, Louisiana on 21Jun2005
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Epic
It's obvious that a lot of thought and hard work went in to this. Why does the clean guitar theme sound so out of tune? Maybe for tension? The drums and bass sound tight together--good players, good rhythm section. Lead gtr has some cool sounds and varied styles, from tough riffs to clean arpeggios. I listened to the whole song (all 7 minutes of it) and I think you could trim some of the fat, especially in sections where it repeats, say 8 times, chop it in half to 4, so it doesn't take so long to get to the next section.
- TortureSermon from Brooklyn, New York on 20Jun2005
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Two words
Guitar Tone
Spend some time finding some interesting guitar tones. You all seem to have pretty good chops, but the tone is lacking. The vocals while in key lack conviction. It sounds like the singer is not confident. Perhaps instead of finding one cool riff and repeating it, you could add to it, add some texture, some life.
Not bad overall though
- redeyedfly from West Saint Paul, Minnesota on 20Jun2005
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Back to Seattle sounds
This starts with over a minute of mellow understated guitar and bass. The bass works the song - reminding me of The Doors in early exchanges. Then the vocal comes in and the song goes off into a Soundgarden, Pearl Jam pastiche. The song is a little overlong to have any commercial potential - but these guys seem to know what they are doing and are furrowing this field of music with some style.
- jonnyraythrash from High Wycombe, United Kingdom on 20Jun2005

Still going...
The song probably should have picked up vocally around the 25 second mark. The intro. is pretty and catchy yet I feel that it drags bottom a little. I was beginning to wonder if I was hearing an instrumental song instead of an alternative rock song with vocals. It was kind of like a prop plane with limited run way that takes too long to pull back and take off. I do like the transition around the 2:10 mark. Good lead guitar and drums throughout. Nice job on the bass guitar as well. I do have to say that 6:53 is too much time for this song. It could be shortened thus presenting a much "tighter" performance. This band does have alot of potential at any rate.

Metal flair without the metal.

like the sound
I like the sound and very catchy. I like the long intro. love the bass and lead guitar. The drums are pretty sweet too!

nice cluster..
Bass; A calm but fitting melody + a developed sound..Could vary little more I belive..
Lead Guitar; Little old folk music ( bluegrass, Country feel).
Drums; quite boring really..But it holds together...

too long
a one-minute intro is probably a bit too much.

A bit too long
Nice riff, nice voice (Alice in Chains), overall the song sounds good but I'd use the axe here and there, 6:53 is way too long

6:53 is not a good sign...
The best part of this recording is the drum sound. Cymbals a little more up front.
The length is killing the song.
Other than that not really much to keep my attention.
Like a roller coaster that only goes up hill.

i'm liking the dual intros, but i would say they need a little diversity. vocal effects work well. good harmony choices.

good and bad
Intro is a little long for it to be on a recording. Live is fine to have that long intro, but get to your stuff faster.
You have a good sound, great vocalist for your style. Hard but still melodic.
Sounds like some tuning issues in the clean guitar...
Lead guitar is good, not doing too much to detract form the rest of the song, but not hanging out in the background either.
You might want to end it right after the guitar solo. It sounds like a totally different (and worse) band after the solo. This just drags the song on too long, and could turn listeners off as it gets monotonous after a while.
The talent is definately there, but try to save up a little more cash and get this song re-recorded at a better studio.

Intro too long
After 55 seconds I was wondering if this was going to be an instrumental.
Sounds like the guitarist has only been playing for a few years.
Nice drumming. Good chops and props to the drummer.
The chorus is much better than the verses. The verses need a little work.

gregs other band
nice mood right from the get-go. slow and steady. then the drums drop out and a build begins. looking forward to hearing the vocalist.
bass is a little muddy, a little hard to hear on my speakers.
vocalist reminds me of greg graffin, nice held-back voice. perhaps a little too held-back.
drums are tight, nicely recorded.

the guitar riff is nothing new. the recording sounds like it was done really cheap. the vibe of the song is not bad it is pretty cool and the song builds and that is good.

Warms up
A bit of a slow start - the intro is a little long - but this gets better as it goes along.
Good dynamics, cool song

driving song
the bass is driving and the drums just puts the mood into high gear. the vox sings well with the same melody of the guitar and bass.
- hystera from Chalmette, Louisiana on 21Jun2005

Two words

ALS ice bucket challenge.
So I was nominated by my brother Blake to dump a bucket of ice water on my head for awareness for the disease ALS. But I decided to donate $50.00 instead. See, I don't really understand what dumping a bucket of ice water on your head has to do with finding a cure for ALS. no offense to those who participate in the ice bucket challenge, but it's just not for me.

Random lyric
I wish I could shut it down for a little while,
I guess that's just not the adult style,
Powering through that ever might just be,
The light at the end of the tunnel is very hard to see,
Trying to keep this shit canoe afloat,
Apparently I'm not doing. Well enough job,
It's hard to float when you don't even have a boat,
I really wish you would stop talking to that tucking knob,
You can't rely on anyone but yourself,
Even then life's pretty unreliable
That's all I got, I lost my train of thought...

Hey y'all...
Today is Monday... Three weeks until I'm sitting in white sand beaches, so I'm told). Life isn't to bad, got a bit of a stomach ache... That isn't to fun, but it's a lifelong battle so I'm pretty much used to it.
Went out with some friends yesterday. Went to Costco... And were done. Just kidding, we went to a place called The Whip Gallery Restaurant. $8.00 double Caesars... Had 3 of them, and a plate of nachos, sorry, split the nachos... Couple glasses of water later, ended up at the Richmond Summer Might Market. We wanted to find some cheap. Rings. Don't want to take the wedding rings we gave ourselves to cuba, figured we would get some shitty ones in case we lost them, then it wouldn't matter so much, still had the Original ones at home.
No dice, couldn't find one I liked, maybe the universe is saying something, or maybe the shitty selection kept us from getting something, plus the sizes were all too big. Murr.
Off to work I a go... Wee.

Ignorance... (Update)
Buddy moved the van he needed back to its original spot, so he didn't need to use it at all... Pretty sure he didn't mean to inconvince me at all, was just the way it was preceived by me.
Ignorance
I like how some people are so fucking ignorant. Thank you guy from said rental car company. I show up to do the work, I park my work truck in space beside vehicle, cause people like to have their work station beside their work, I do anyway. And this dude tells me, I need that van, cause my van is parked I front of another vehicle. So I move, thinking they are actually going to do something with the van... Nope, parks it right where I was parked and fucks off inside and sits his ass down at his desk.
Nice move, two enthusiastic thumbs up.
Jury duty (draft post from 2014-08-15)
Went home for lunch a few, seen a letter from the BC justice department opened it and boom, got selected for jury duty.
Yesterday I sent a email saying I wanted to be excused cause is couldn't miss work cause I monetary issues.
I got a email a few days back, They excused me, I think it would be fun to be a juror, just can afford the time off. Then I got a letter from the, a few days back saying the same thing...

A day in the life...
Today, no overtime, didn't really warrant it, was a slower day... Sorta. Well, I think . We mellowed it out anyway, turned it into a training day dor new guy Michael, or Jun Yang, if you will, JY... Jeeps.
Taught him about tempered door glasses, I really like showing people how to do my job, as long as they actually wanna learn. Nothing like a fucking know it all showing up and telling me how it is... Sorry but other way around... Not the case with this chap, he's ready and willing to learn.
Only 8 hours of work today, tomorrow... Might be another 10 or 11... Have to see. Cha-Ching
Going to cuba at end of the month, have some OT bank coming on next check.. Weeehooo. Plus we splurged and bought ourselves a bed yesterday... Nothing like getting a 1000.00 bed for 790.00 and change. Shit yeah son, you spend 1/3 of your life in it, might as well get a good one. And it's better for the wife's back since the car crash and all... Thanks for not stopping at that red light C@&$%#£¥€?R T@&$S... I mean maybe it was an accident, but we were stopped... You didn't. Oops I suppose right?
Hope you're life hasn't changed anyway at all...
Off on a tangent, sorry about that reader... Squirrel.
Went to run the Iona Jetty today, but it was closed for repairs... So we had to try a new spot. Pacific Spirirt Park, wow, that's a pretty awesome park. Check it out.. Clink the link.
Was way better than the Iona Jetty, trails through the UBC endowment lands. It's nice to run in wilderness without much reminder of a city. I didn't snap any pictures of it al all, sorry readers, but I made a link to metro vancouver web site so you can ckeck it out for yourself.

After that we went to the new BC Liquor store on Granville and 70th. It's new and a decent size. Went home at are a delicious dinner Leah made. She slow cooked a pork loin so we had pulled pork sandwiches. Pretty much end of night.

Reliving glories on the 50 yard line...
Some days I miss getting baked, stoned, high, whatever you call it. Smoking the pot. marijuana if you will. Smoked so much pot in my past, I'm good for a while, like, waking up before work (5:30am) taking three breaths and hitting the pipe. Actually packing the bowl and placing it on my bed side table with a lighter positioned beside so it was very hanky, convient if you will to wake up and smoke it. Going to work. Smoking more at 10:00am, back to work, again at noon, then at 3:30, on bus home. Then hitting the hot knives (a method in which you head up butter, or steak knives on a element or torch and pressing them together when they get red hot with a ball of marijuana) all night long, going to sleep and doing it over again... Repeat that for months on end...
Got off the pot now for almost three years ish... Except for that time we made quinoa muffins with marijuana. A few months back, maybe 6 months actually... Don't really remember, it really doesn't matter.
I haven't been much of a druggie in the last 5 years, I even scored a gram of hashish and took it with me to my buddies stag party and gave it out to whomever wanted it, didn't have a single hoot. Still have a little bit left in case I ever decide to shut off my brain for a few hours.
Come close in the last little while, but I take pride in knowing that I have a streak alive and it's a decent stretch. Oh yeah. The title is a line from the movie Dazed and Confused.

Peace.
Bee sting
Walking to the bus station, minding my own business when all of a sudden... I get stung by a bee... Or something bit me. Feels like a bee sting. Fucking prick...
And even after I change my mind about killing every new that comes into my airspace. Oh well, karma I suppose for those years of dead bees by my hand. It only stung for 4 hours or so. No biggie deal.

So far, not bad, woke up without an alarm clock at 6:30am, aparently that's sleeping in when you wake up at 5am for the past few days. No matter, I like vancouver at 6am, it's peaceful and quiet. Played around on the iPad tablet for an hour or so, such an addicting little piece of technology, had it for a for years now, very useful in 2014 life. Could probably live without it if I didn't have the means to have one, but I do, so I do.
Had to go to my place of employment today and print off our tidal fishing licensed, cause the digital copy isn't legit enough yet at the moment. It's what they want, it's the law, I have no problem paying the fees, I fish therefore I pay, I ain't no poacher...
Took a quick detour to Starbucks to get the wife a morning coffee. Now I'm on the couch relaxing with a homemade mocha typing this blog post before I go to the dentist and doctors office.
Not much to complain about today, keep it simple and don't fret about the trivial bullshit that doesn't matter...

Day of awesomeness
Got up at 7am, had a shower, trying to knock the mini hang over I accrued from yesterday's festivities out of my system, it worked. Woke up Leah, we loaded the car and headed down to Kitsilano, picked up Oliver and Keri. Swung by a donut/coffee shop to get some breakfast and some coffee, then to another coffee shop to get some coffee(it's a democracy, people like different things). An were off, drove through Vancouver, Burnaby, and Port Moody to the village of Belcarra to the belcarra picnic area.
We arrived there around 9:30am, set up our traps, loaded them up with the stinkiest chicken ever and threw them into the ocean. Started hauling in crabs every 15 minutes or so, was pretty good. None of them were legit size so back in the ocean they go. Around 11:00, the people started showing up, now I'm not sure but I think there is some sort of etiquette involved. Like, if someone already has traps down, don't just fucking tie on to the rock and chick your own on top of alrwqdy laid traps tangling lines and fucking with others traps.

Well let me tell you, Jesus Christ that was the case for he rest of the day. Not trying to be racist but one race in particular decided not to heed on the side of caution and just tie off and chuck. And everytime he reeled in, he got caught on your lines and fucked up our traps.
It was suppose to be non- stressful day on the ocean but that was ruined by this asshole and this stupid child who kept doing the same thing.
Oh well right, aparently angered is you're reaction to someone else being a fuckhead... Serenity now...
About half way through the day we hauled out the barbecue and cooked up some hotdogs. We brought some snacks too and had a mini picnic.
There was a metro vancouver parks board conservation officer on deck for pretty much the whole day, very nice lady. We asked us for our licenses and we started whipping out our phones. She quickly stopped is and told is that we have to have paper copies on us and digital ones weren't really allowed yet cause you needs to sign the license. She let is off though cause we didn't know. And in our defence the internet where you buy the tidal license from doesn't say anything about having to print out and sign it. We participated in a study on which crabs were being caught and with that bait etc...
We left around 3 or 4, I can't remember we packed it in. Ended up getting three legit sized crabs out of the 70 some odd we pulled in. It was getting to be too much, so many lines crossing, not catching anything. Done!
We hopped the car and headed back to Vancouver stopping in Port Moody at 7-11 and loading up on junk. Ended up at The Sushi Bar on burrard and 4th in kitslano. Best sushi in Vancouver... And cheap too.

Interlude... 08/04/2014
Got up at the crack of dawn to get to belcarra [insert photo of map ] to give a go at crab trapping in a different location. Got up, felt a little drunk still, but it quickly wore off and had a head ache for about an hour or so. Phew, got like 7 hours worth of sleep, feeling weren't after the debauchery that was last night... And I lost my fucking sunglasses somewheres inbetween 1181 and Moxies... Bullshit. Oh well... What can you do, I left my info in case they turn up... But I think they are gone... Favourite pair too...
Another pride year...
Last year was a little better, another year growth, did something I shouldn't share on cable TV. Nothing to life altering or anything, just a check mark on life's list. Nothing really fazed me too much, still though, small town kid hanging around gay people... They are just people, get over it.
Yesterday, all good went to the pride parade, took some photos of floats or anything out of the ordinary... Below are some shots of the parade,
We even seen some political figures there was Elizabeth May, the head of the Green Party of Canada
and also Justin Trudeau, head of the Federal Liberal Party of Canada,

After the parade we ended up walking to Davie Street, where we met up with a guy we know named Kymo and his friend. We know him through a mutual friend Brandi. He lives in Edmonton, we then went to a bar called 1181 where we proceeded to eat beer, we were going for a bite to eat and ended up there. Its a gay bar, chalked full of dudes priding it up... It's interesting when a dude starts to chat me up...
"So, who are you here with?" Random dude says to me,
"My wife, she's right over there..." I reply.
"Oh..." Dude says with sad look on his face,
"yep, sorry 'bout that" I said
We shared a laugh, well I laughed anyways, and he's gone.
That happened a few times, tried to take a couple photos from inside the bar, none turned out too good, mostly blurry. And me and the wife at 1181 half-cut around the time of that photo.
After that experience we went to Moxies across the street and ate some dinner, got home around 9pm, and went to bed cause tomorrow we were going on a crabbing adventure to Belcarra with Keri and Oliver
