One hour out of the year. Everyone should shut off the lights, unplug everything. Save the earth. They should expand this to once a month. Or better yet, how about when you're not using power, shut it off. Of course that would mean that I should unplug my everything at home when I'm not home. But I don't. I'm as bad as everyone else who squanders power.
But to change, one has to change perception aswell. I see BCHydro has their power smart campaign. It's really good, but also it's a company. They tell people to turn off the lights, but governments still use street light that are plugged into the system. Why not put a solar panel on every, even every 5th light so we don't draw power off the system. Good ole sun power...
